D. Beatriz nasceu em 1373, em Coimbra. Era filha do rei D. Sancho IV, de Castela com Maria de Molina. Casou em 12 de Setembro de 1309 com D. João I, rei de Castela, tendo sido rainha entre 1325 e 1357. D. Beatriz faleceu em 1409 ou pouco depois, em Lisboa.
